Emotionally dark is right, they are usually much lighter. Often authors get...I must admit that I'm impressed. Often authors get stuck in the same tone and to see three different ones back to back is exciting. From the reviews you've written it sounds like she has a light hearted story, a mysterious story that's a little darker and an emotionally dark story.
