Settling into her new life as a fledgling at the House of Night hasn’t been easy for Zoey Redbird, but when she became the leader of the Dark Daughters and Sons she felt like she belonged. The Goddess Nyx has blessed her, and she’s gained close friends in the short time since she first arrived, but there’s still a part of her that is attached to her past. With her ex-boyfriend, Heath, still wanting to maintain their relationship, Zoey fears that she has accidentally Imprinted with him. Tasting Heath’s blood was forbidden, and now they both may be paying the price.
When local high school students begin turning up dead, the House of Night is the first place the police look for answers. It seems that the bodies appear to have been attacked and drained of blood, and the vampyres are at the top of the suspect list. The fact that Zoey went to school with them makes it much more personal for her.
Just as she thinks that life can’t get any more complicated, another fledgling is lost and the dreams Zoey is having lead her to believe that there is more to their deaths than Neferet is telling. As their High Priestess, and Zoey’s mentor, Neferet is the one person she should have been able to talk to about anything that was bothering her. Things are changing and Zoey’s not so sure who to trust, but her friends believe in her and their unwavering trust will give her the strength she needs. She just hopes that their gifts will be enough to withstand the darkness closing in on the House of Night.
Betrayed is the second installment in the young adult House of Night series. Zoey Redbird is in the midst of her change from human to vampyre, and doing her best to deal with the transformation taking place. Being a teen is never easy, but for Zoey the choices she makes has an affect on everyone around her, and that makes hers a very difficult position to be in. Having read Marked, and now Betrayed, it’s obvious that P.C. and Kristin Cast make a fantastic writing team. This enchanting tale is filled with non-stop action, strong friendships, and sweet blossoming romance. Whether you’re a teen or an adult who loves a great paranormal read, this is a series not to be missed.

It's a great YA paranormal series Katie. Awesome that you already have both to read so you can start with Marked! :)
