Zachary Prade has been called back from his assignment to track down a woman he met while posing as a drug lord, Alejandro Campos. Lily has unknowingly drawn a lot of attention to herself by carrying an item given to her in El Salvador by a dying pilot. What she has is the key to unlock a file, and Zach has to keep it from falling into the wrong hands.
Lily Robbins is startled to see Alejandro Campos, and even more surprised to learn that he’s a secret agent. He may also be her only hope of surviving the line-up of bad guys trying to either kidnap or kill her. In the midst of it all, the interest that began when she first spent time with Zach is still there and stronger than ever, but Lily knows that Zach is dedicated to his job. They still have to make it out alive before thoughts of the future can even come in to play.
Cutting Loose is the second book in this new series, a spin-off from the Crazy series. Zach is a professional, but with Lily around it’s easy to lose his perspective on the case he’s working when keeping her safe is always his first concern. Lily knows that it’s foolish to fall for a man like Zach, but her heart refuses to listen. Ms. Janzen writes another fast-action thriller complete with well-defined characters, beautiful cars and danger at every turn. A romantic thrill ride that you won’t want to miss. There is enough detail to read this as a stand-alone, but it does begin where the previous book, On the Loose, left off.

Beautiful cars. Me like. :D Seriously, that sounds pretty good! A James Bond-ish plot, sorta kinda.
I do have a weakness for some Muscle cars...in this case a lovely candy-apple red 1968 Shelby Mustang Cobra GT500-KR. Like Bond, Zach gets the job done, the car has high-tech extras and there's definitely been some women....so maybe a little bit Bond-ish. :)
Niiiiiiiice. You would love my dad, I think. He has a 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28, completely redone from top to bottom. It's a beautiful car, absolutely stunning.
Great review! I like that it's a stand alone. :)
T.C. - Oooo Very nice, bet that car is his baby! :)
Rachael - Thank you! It is nice when the author can do them this way. It's great to read the prior books and really know all of the characters that end up being secondary characters, but you don't always have time to go back and do that. :)
Yea with reviewing I end up reading ALOT of series books out of order. If I had all the time in the world and it was just for me, I would read them in order. But when you need it done in a certain amount of time, you can't really read the 15 prior books in the series. LOL
It's tough when they're really good and you have to wait for some free time to go back for the rest...lol
The LOOSE series is actually a continuation of the CRAZY series, not an off-shoot. Ms. Janzen's website stated that she "ran out" of CRAZY titles.
CUTTING LOOSE is by far my favorite of the series. Previously, I would have said CRAZY WILD was my favorite, but this one takes the cake. I love all of the fast-paced action, hot men, hot cars, and of course, hot sex.
Hi Gun Diva....thanks for stopping by. At some point I will really have to go back and read the Crazy titles because I've really heard all good about the series as a whole. :)
Kimberly,
What I find so amazing about this series is the number of men who are addicted. The guys at the gun shop where I worked (hence the moniker) passed the books around and shipped boxes of them to our reservist friends in Iraq. I got my brother, a former Marine, hooked right off the bat. The only drawback as far as he's concerned are the bright, girly covers :) He feels like he has to hide them in a Playboy at work ;)
I had no idea that so many men enjoyed it as well, though it would make sense because they aren't too sappy. Do you still have friends/contacts there that you send books to? That's too funny that he thought it necessary to hide the covers in his Playboy....lol
