Hey Kimberly!
I liked your review. I recently read the book I waited FOREVER for... and I found it to be stale for me. I LOVE the series believe me... and living in Louisiana, I love the background. I have never watched the tv show (only one youtube clip and it made me mad because WE DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT!!!), so I use my imagination a lot. I love Sookie, but her letting Quinn go, I understand his family problem... but still! And then with Eric's memory coming back to him.... hummm one can only wonder what is in store.. Yes, I have the next one on preorder already... I will not give up. But for me, this was not the best one. Mor discussion if you want... alliwantandmore at gmail.com
Hope you have a great Monday morning!!

Cecile - Oh no! Sorry that you didn't like this one so much. I really loved that a lot of those extra threads in the storyline (that were starting to really add up) were resolved in this book. :)

Pissenlit - I'd be doing the same thing! Hope you get it soon. :)

It's okay. I am still a die hard fan and would attack anyone would did not like it (LOL). I did like the sub plots because there are a lot of different stories to come from this now... but I guess coming off the series as a whole, I just felt like I was missing something. Like something was not there for me in this book. But thats just me =(

I agree Cecile, this one lacked something. This is the weakest link in the entire series in my opinion. I love this series, and I will continue too. I love Ms. Charlaine's universe. But this book lacked something. Still better than your average fiction, but weak in comparison to the other installments of the series.

I really liked the book and it went to the direction I wanted for Sookie and Eric but I want to know what happens next, I wanted more chapters. Does anyone know when the next book is out or is Touch of Dead, Sookie's collection of stories due in October 2009 the continued storyline?

I loved the book and it went the way I wanted so far, or at least the direction I want, ie. Eric and Sookie. But when will the next book be out, the book Touch of Dead is titled as a collection of Sookie's stories, is this the continued story to Dead and Gone or will I have to wait even longer. On ms. Harris's website I don't see anything about a new book.

Just finished this book. I really did enjoy this book, and like Kimberly, glad some loose ends were tied up. I got a bit choked up at the end. The ending left me feeling sad. :(

I just finished Dead and Gone. I have to say that her books are really a great read, but come on! I keep reading hoping Sookie and Bill are going to get back together, and I suppose I'm not the only one. Guess I'll just watch True Blood since they seem to understand the reason people are tuning in: To see Bill and Sookie progress in their relationship. She seems to drone on too much about other characters that don't matter. Please, enough already with Calvin Norris, Amelia, Alcide, and the rest. Get on with Eric, Bill and Sookie!!!
